ABOUT US

OUR EDUCATORS

As a church-based childcare center, we hire staff with a special "calling" to the ministry of children and families. The list below outlines a few of our teacher requirements and is representative of our commitment to staff excellence.

  • Our teachers are certified to teach preschool through a local community college.
  • They have a "childcare" credential.
  • We require all teachers to continue taking college credit classes in Early Childhood Education, encouraging them to achieve an AA Degree in the field of childcare.
  • All teachers are required to become infant/child CPR certified as well as First Aid certified, which is paid for by NHCDC.
  • Workshop training is required each year that's often provided on campus.

Many CDC staff members have been here for decades, some working with multiple children over the years for the same families. Many in the Raleigh area consider the CDC to be part of their family history.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

"Children are the Greatest in the Kingdom"

In the Bible, Jesus used a little child as an example of who we should emulate in order to see Heaven. We believe that is an awesome challenge and it causes us to marvel at how wonderful children are, and to be humbled as we have been chosen to care for these little ones who God loves so intently.

 OUR HISTORY

North Haven CDC began more than 30 years ago as a community outreach ministry. Caring for children and their families is a worthy role for any fellowship, and North Haven Church has hosted the CDC gladly over the years.

We do not attempt to teach a specific church doctrine and we respect each person’s choice. We serve children from many different cultures and religious backgrounds; however, we are a Christian school, and the morals and values we teach are the same ones most loving families cherish.

Our original mission is unchanged: we continue to give parents peace of mind that their children are loved and cared for... just as if they were at home.

We thank our parents for the opportunity to serve them and their precious children.  Our doors are open wide to parents and siblings who want to make North Haven Church their church home.
