CURRICULUM

INFANTS

Personalized, Loving Care

The dedicated infant room provides care that will stimulate your baby's learning cognitively, emotionally and physically. Since all infants have a strong need to be touched, rocked and fed on demand, we strive to meet those individual needs.

Your infant will remain on their individual schedules. Each child will have a completed daily report regarding food, behavior, naps and diapering. Parent(s) are responsible for providing diapers and wipes as needed. Also, for the first year, parents are responsible for providing all food and drink for the infants. Instructions for feeding each infant is documented on individual feeding schedules filled out by the parent. Each infant will use the same crib daily and have a personal “cubby” for their belongings. If the child is under 15 months, you will need to furnish a feeding schedule and everything you bring should be labelled. (Bottles and lids must be labeled with your child’s name and the date and BM if it's breast milk.)

To reduce the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), infants 12 months and under are required by NC State law to be placed on their backs for sleep. We are SIDS certified by the state of NC.

ONE-YEAR-OLDS

Foundation for education

In our One-Year-Old class the children learn their colors and shapes as well as experience a short circle time with their friends. We demonstrate sharing when the children bring a "show-and-tell" from home. The teachers follow the lead of the children. Reading is very important at this age and the teachers do plenty at circle times.

We provide a planned curriculum and weekly lesson plans.  Children are exposed to a variety of concepts such as alphabets, colors, numbers, shapes, sizes, weather and feelings.

However, we believe that children learn most effectively through play and we go to the gym or outside for play every day, weather permitting.

Sample Daily Schedule

  • 8:30-9:00 AM: Mid-morning snack
  • 9:00-9:50 AM: Planned activities
  • 9:50-10:50 AM: Teacher assisted outdoor time

TODDLERS

Learning About Their World

The children experience "center play" from the age of two and up. We provide a planned Christian curriculum and weekly lesson plans, but Toddlers, like most children learn through play.

Other areas that are covered include safety rules, positive self-image, animals, seasons, plants and community helpers. Above all, we hope to teach your child socialization skills – the ability to get along well with others (children and adults). This is just one of the essential skills we teach that your child will use his/her entire life. It is our goal to promote a positive childcare experience for the child and the parent.

We go outside for play every day, weather permitting, but we have a full indoor gymnasium available in the event of inclement weather.
